Ron Brent Park upgraded for seniors

“Part of the accessibility part was to make sure that there was a trial that could be used by all users, including age-friendly and wheelchairs,” said Project Manager Chirs Bjorn.

The park is surrounded by the Riverbend Seniors Community, Gateway Lodge, the Connaught Youth Centre, and Ron Brent Elementary School, which is why the City decided to upgrade this area.

“The new park redevelopment provides additional options and activities for retirees in Prince George. This is a great space that is centrally located in the Gateway area and will be a centrepiece for the neighbourhood,” continued Hall.

Gates between the park and both Riverbend and Gateway also provide safe access to the green space directly from their properties.

All of these improvements are a part of the second phase of the $1.75M Ron Brent Park Redevelopment Project. In 2018 a new playground was built for the Ron Brent Elementary school as part of the first phase.
