‘There’s a lot to do in Ottawa’: Zimmer seeks re-election in Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies

PRINCE GEORGE – As one of five candidates in the Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies riding, incumbent Conservative Bob Zimmer said he’s seeking re-election because there is still work to do in Ottawa.

“I started off as a young guy getting involved in politics with the understanding that Ottawa needed to be fixed and it indeed it still the case,” said Zimmer.

Zimmer spoke with CKPG News earlier this week touching on key issues like mandatory masks and vaccinations, as well as key campaign issues for his riding.

Zimmer was originally elected in 2011 and has since been re-elected twice, now seeking his fourth term as MP for one of the largest ridings in Canada by size.

After spending as much time in politics as he has, Zimmer said he knows how things can be changed and where to push to get things done, vowing to keep his momentum going forward.

Natural resource development remains one of Zimmer’s top campaign issues, along with access to the backcountry.

Mandatory vaccinations are something Zimmer opposes, he says taking the shot is a personal choice.
