RCMP ready to monitor school zones with back to school upcoming
PRINCE GEORGE– With schools opening back up in a few days transportation and safety remain a hot-button issue here in Prince George.
The 30 km/h speed limits kick in on Tuesday, September 7th and RCMP says they will be monitoring them to watch for unsafe drivers who tend to speed in school zones. They remind drivers that you can get up to a $253 fine if caught speeding and to be cautious when driving through them.
While some students walk to get to their destination, others take the school bus. While that might seem like a safer option, sometimes drivers can get a little impatient and cause a potentially dangerous situation by passing the buses when their lights are flashing red.
