PRINCE GEORGE — A 35-year-old Prince George man has been arrested in connection to the fatal Econolodge Motel fire.

According to RCMP, Justin Kyle Aster was arrested on Sept. 16, 2021, and has been charged with three counts of criminal negligence causing death, arson in relation to inhabited property, and arson damaging property.

Aster was originally arrested three days after the fire but was released without being charged. Aster, who is known to police will now remain in custody until his next court appearance.
