Prince George Fire Rescue knocks down apartment fire, cause still under investigation

PRINCE GEORGE — An investigation is underway after an apartment fire in Prince George Sunday morning (Sept. 26).

Acting Assistant Chief Mike Holliday says in a release Prince George Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 3155 Westwood Drive at 7:18 a.m today. Firefighters arrived to thick, black smoke coming from a third floor window, with one civilian stranded on a third floor balcony.

Fire crews rescued the lone occupant from the balcony, then went inside the building to knock the fire down.

Damage was limited to the apartment unit the blaze started in, and damage is estimated at $200,000.
