RCMP seize illegal firearms thanks to ‘several sharp-eyed witnesses’

PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George RCMP are thanking several sharp-eyed witnesses for reporting some recent suspicious activity.

On Friday, September 17, 2021, the Prince George RCMP received a call that someone could hear a loud argument and believed they saw something suspicious being loaded into a trunk.

RCMP located and seized several illegal firearms. Police arrested two people for being in violation of their court-ordered conditions and a third person for unauthorized possession of a firearm. All three men were released with future court dates.

On Monday, September 20, 2021, police received a report of two people near a shopping centre with what looked like stolen goods. RCMP located the two men, one of the men was arrested for breaching his court-ordered conditions not to be in possession of firearms.

The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the following charges against Jordan Louis Bear from Quesnel; Obstructing a Police Officer and Fail to Comply with Release Order. He will remain in custody until his next court appearance.

“We want to thank the people of Prince George for calling the police when they notice suspicious activity happening around them, and we want to encourage people to continue calling in these types of occurrences. Police were able to get several firearms off the streets because individuals took the time to alert us to their observations, states,” said Prince George RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
