Two Artists in Residence at Theatre Northwest

He has appeared in, directed, and/or written more than a dozen plays, including directing and acting in a stage reading of Jordan Tannahill’s ‘Botticelli in the Fire’ this summer at the theatre. Legere identifies as bisexual and is also in the process of centering that in his work.

“Opportunities to engage with my queerness have been rare, and I want to create more such opportunities for myself and for other queer theatre artists,” he says.

Legere will also bring his passion for community and youth engagement, saying “the arts have so much power to build more vibrant, inclusive, equitable communities; which I look forward to working toward with this residency.”

Cyr’s artistic practice has included acting professionally and teaching acting at a post-secondary institution for the past 6 years in Vancouver. Having spent time all over Canada, Cyr is keen to embrace BC’s north.

“The way we indulge in and craft stories is ever-changing; multimedia and medium crossovers are a passion, there are so many ways to tell stories, there is so much opportunity for creativity and awesome theatre experiences!” said Cyr.

Cyr is currently working on a few scripts and concepts to bring to stage here in Prince George.
