PRINCE GEORGE- United Way of Northern BC has lifted the Tree of Lights to the roof of the Coast Prince George Hotel. It’s the campaigns third year in Prince George, and is aimed at bringing joy and hope to the PG community. Trista Spencer, Executive Director of UWNBC says the local community tradition will inspire residents to get past the darkness brought by the pandemic and will instill a ray of hope, joy and happiness.

“We are so thrilled to be able to bring the Tree of Lights Back to Prince George once again this year! Our vision for this year’s campaign is “joy” in all its ways and connecting the community together to make a truly meaningful impact in this amazing place we call home,” she stated.

Lorna Bihiro, Development Officer of UWNBC, says this campaign is particularly important this year.

“This year’s theme is “local Love” So, we want to be able to support our agencies that, due to our lack of being able to fundraise more, and the downturn with the pandemic and everything. We weren’t able to support or fundraise as much as we normally are able to. So, we are hoping to be able to boost that programing up and support, our non-profits,” said Courtice.
