PRINCE GEORGE – During the pandemic, pets have been the foundation of joy for many. For other pet parents, bonding with their animals is complicated.

Prince George Humane Society has launched a new program to help keep pets and people together.

Numerous companion animals are surrendered to shelters each week.

To reduce the surrenders, the Prince George Humane Society has announced the Keeping Pets and People Together Program to minimize the surrenders.

Part of the program focuses on animal behavioural issues in the home and teaches pet parents how to correct those behaviours.

Having a better understanding of your pet’s needs is the goal of the new program. Pets tend to surrender for a few common reasons.

At this time, the Prince George Humane Society will assist pet parents in considering.
