Former Quesnel mayor passes away

VICTORIA — Steve Wallace, the former mayor of Quesnel, has passed away.

The City of Quesnel confirmed to CKPG News that they’ve received notification that he died of a massive heart attack in Victoria last (Nov.26) night.

Wallace was mayor of Quesnel from 1990 to 2002 before moving to Victoria where he was operating a driving school.

In recent months, he had been facing allegations of sexual assault and Victoria police had recommended three counts of sexual assault.

However, the BC Prosecution Service recently decided that no charges would be approved against him.
