City-Wide Food Drive a huge success with the support of PG
PRINCE GEORGE– One of the biggest services the Salvation Army offers is its Food Bank program. On Saturday organizers teamed up to host the 2nd annual city-wide food drive to help out the Sally-Ann in getting those donations needed after the holiday’s which is the busiest time of year for the non-profit.
Last year the drive raised over 46,000 pounds of food and supplied the Salvation Army for 2 months. Now the goal is to raise even more to help the Salvation Army replenish its stock.
The event was put on by Don Willimont and Dave Mothus but many other sponsors were involved including Wood Wheaton Supercentre, Telus, Hell Yeah PG, Pattison Media, and the Prince George Kodiaks. All with the goal of trying to fill as many Wood Wheaton trucks at all 4 Save-On-Foods locations across the city. After the first-hour multiple trucks were filled with non-perisble food items and necessities and each Save-On has seen a huge amount of support.
