PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP are continuing to investigate a shooting incident that occurred on Lansdowne Road earlier this week, an event that prompted a significant police response and has raised concerns among residents in the area.

According to police, frontline officers were called to the 3700-block of Lansdowne Road shortly before 8 a.m. on June 30 after reports of gunshots being fired in the direction of a mobile home. Witnesses in the neighbourhood reported hearing multiple shots and observed a grey sedan bearing Alberta licence plates leaving the area around the same time. Investigators believe the vehicle may be connected to the incident and are seeking additional information from the public.

RCMP officers responded quickly to the scene and began gathering evidence. During their investigation, police located what they described as evidence confirming that a shooting had occurred. Officers then turned their attention to the mobile home believed to have been targeted.

After receiving no response to repeated attempts to contact anyone inside the residence, officers entered the trailer to ensure the safety and well-being of its occupants. Police located three individuals inside the home. Fortunately, none of the occupants had been injured during the incident.

The discovery provided some relief for investigators and residents alike, as concerns initially centred on the possibility that someone inside the home may have been struck by gunfire. RCMP have not released the identities of the occupants, nor have they disclosed any information regarding a possible motive for the shooting.

Investigators remain focused on determining exactly what occurred and identifying those responsible. At this stage, police have not announced any arrests, and no charges have been laid.

As part of the ongoing investigation, RCMP are appealing to members of the public who may have information that could assist officers. Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting and may have witnessed suspicious activity before or after the incident.

Police are also asking residents and motorists to review any available video footage, including home security recordings and dash camera footage, that may show the suspect vehicle or other activity in the neighbourhood around the time the shots were fired.

“We are asking for anyone in the area who may have witnessed the event or has dash camera footage or video surveillance showing the incident or movement in the neighbourhood at the time it occurred to please contact our non-emergency line to speak with a police officer,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
