Developing dementia-friendly neighbourhoods

PRINCE GEORGE – Across Canada, thousands are living with dementia and choosing to age in place. Many of these people’s home needs become complex as they age. A recent research project has UNBC working with other universities to improve the quality for these people.

Two researchers from the University of Northern British Columbia teamed up with others at SFU and UBC to figure out how to create dementia-friendly neighbourhoods and make it easier for people living with dementia and their caregivers to be fully active in their community.

The researchers will be looking to learn from people living with dementia in Prince George and their care partners. And have them be part of a conversation on their experiences with living with dementia in North Central BC.
