Supply chain issues and labour shortages delay reopening of The Exploration Place

PRINCE GEORGE — The reopening of The Exploration Place has been delayed due to supply chain issues and labour shortages.

The museum was originally hoping to reopen June 18 but that’s been pushed to sometime this fall.

The Exploration Place has been closed for the past 26 months, due to COVID-19.

“Obviously, we’ve reviewed every option. At the end of the day, we are an independent charity and postponing our grand re-opening presents its own set of challenges,” syas CEO Tracy Calogheros. “However, the right thing to do is to continue going forward and ensure that we honour the vision so that we can properly serve all of our visitors.”

Although the Grand Re-Opening will not go ahead as expected, The Little Prince steam engine will kick off another season on June 18.
