PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings continue their impressive start to the season following a 2-1 shootout win over the Vernon Vipers Friday (October 14).

Jordan Fairlie remains undefeated when he starts in net for the Spruce Kings saving 17 of the 18 shots he faced.

Kilian McGregor-Bennett was the hero for PG scoring in the shootout to lift the team over the Vipers.

With the win, the Spruce Kings improve to 6-1 on the season while the Vipers fall to 3-4.

The Spruce Kings outshot Vernon 36 to 18 as the Vipers goalie Roan Clarke had himself an impressive night stopping all but one in regulation.

“After a complete three rounds of shooters and a 4th shooter from Vernon, Kilian McGregor-Bennett deked out Clarke to open up the wickets and slide the puck through the Viper goalie’s five-hole to secure the win,” the Spruce Kings release reads.

PG is now off to Salmon Arm for the Saturday (October 15) evening game against the Silverbacks.

Puck drop is at 6:00 p.m.
