PRINCE GEORGE- The Norm for Canadians during the winter months is to try and escape the snow and cold conditions.

However, some 3300 km away that’s not the case, and Tourism PG is trying to help those who want to experience a “Real Canadian Winter.”

“It’s an opportunity for us to try a new market where typically we don’t do a lot of marketing in Arizona and specifically in Tucson,” said the CEO of Tourism PG Colin Carson.

This new marketing initiative comes just one week after the first Flair airline flight took off from YXS and headed to Tucson.

“We are highlighting the cool things there are to do in Prince George in the winter,” said Gordon Duke, President and CEO of the Prince George Airport Authority.

That could be anything from Outdoor ice skating, skiing, Ice fishing or experiencing the Northern Lights. Those Involved with Tourism here in Prince George believe that our community is a one-stop shop.

“We talk about Prince George as being the base camp for adventure,” said Duke. ” That’s the opportunity that we have is to get those folks up and have a unique week that they can go back and talk to their friends and coworkers about.”

The Flair airlines flight arrives and departs in Prince George every Friday.
