PRINCE GEORGE — The cold and flu season has hit many people hard so far, but children and vulnerable populations like the elderly can be hit especially hard. While influneza is currently top of mind for many, another respiratory illness, RSV can also pose a threat, so what is RSV?

For young children, and the elderly, RSV can be more serious.

Dr. Kim also says that you can get tested for RSV along with influenza and covid-19.

When it comes to prevention, vaccination is the best way to prevent serious illness. Getting your flu shot is still a good defense against RSV, as well as practicing all of the measure that we are accustomed to like washing hands and staying home when you’re sick.
