Women’s basketball squad a bright spot in Victoria weekend
VICTORIA — The University of Victoria unloaded an offensive explosion on UNBC’s men’s basketball squad in Canada West action Saturday night in Victoria, pounding the Timberwolves 129 – 89.
The 12 – 2 Vikes scored more than 30 points in every quarter of the game.
Diego Maffia had 34 points while five other U-Vic teammates reached double-digit point totals. Chris Ross led UNBC with 20 points as the Timberwolves saw their record fall to 5 – 7.
Meanwhile, the UNBC’s women’s squad had more success, the ladies won 91 – 79 against U-Vic on Saturday, after falling 60-67 on Friday.
