PRINCE GEORGE — The FrancoFun winter festival kicked off this past weekend, with a host of activities being held to explore the French culture.

The 38th annual FrancoFun winter festival started on the weekend, and on Saturday the main event was all about cuisine as the intergenerational cooking contest or Concours de cuisine intergénérationnel took place at Ecole Franco-Nord.

The festival started on Friday, February 3, and will run until next Saturday, February 11.

Sarah Maurice, the executive director of the The French Association of Prince George or Le Cercle des Canadiens Français de Prince George said that the event is also a chance for the community to learn more about the French culture and community, including those right here in Prince George.

Ecole Franco Nord has teamed with Le Cercle des Canadien Français de Prince George for FrancoFun, and principal of Ecole Franco-Nord Nancy Gauthier says the school will be offering new programs in the upcoming year.

Whether you’re looking to sharpen up your French or to just learn a bit more about the French culture, FrancoFun is where you want to be. Have fun or Amusez-vous!
