YXS to get increased routes for Calgary, Vancouver for spring/summer season

PRINCE GEORGE — As the weather shifts to spring, residents of Prince George will soon be able to take advantage of some extra flights coming out of YXS.

Starting May 1st, WestJet is increasing their direct service between Prince George and Calgary by adding two additional flights. The route will run nine times a week until September 8th, then it holds steady at once daily.

Prince George Airport Authority President and CEO Gordon Duke said “The (PGAA) continues to assess our passenger needs and due to our strong relationships with our airline partners, we are pleased to see additional service out of our airport.”

As of July 1st, Air Canada will be adding an extra flight to Vancouver as well
