PRINCE GEORGE – In High school, stage performances have stood the test of time as an extracurricular activity. Those participating usually come away with core memories they carry with them for the rest of their lives. A Duchess Park Secondary School production with community support has established lasting memories for everyone involved.

Make-up, lights and sound are essential for successful stage plays. With these faucets in place and the production team’s support, “Game of Tiaras” hit the stage.

“ We have 17 sponsors from the community that stepped up just to help, to make sure that the sets are par and that we have the right Disney princess costumes ..… to make it as professional as possible.”

Jackie Friesen English/Drama Teacher, Duchess Park Secondary

Creating a professional experience is essential to Jackie Friesen, as some students who have dreams of the bright lights of Broadway may continue to pursue an acting career.

The play is a comedic amalgamation of various fairy tale stories mixed in with a little splash of King Lear which involves nearly 50 students of all grades and experiences. The final performances are scheduled for the end of this week.

The first performance starts on April 26 and runs to Saturday, April 26. Tickets are available at the door. The money raised will be used to fund future productions
