Controlled burning planned southeast of College Heights: BCWS

PRINCE GEORGE – The BC Wildfire Service will be conducting burns at the Prince George Tree Improvement Station (PGTIS) as part of new recruit training.

This training is scheduled to begin on April 28, 2023 and continue intermittently until May 19, 2023. There will be approximately 150 recruits training during this time.

Burning will proceed only if conditions are suitable. Staff from the BC Wildfire Service will carefully prepare, control and monitor these fires.

These burns will be conducted at the PGTIS site, located along the Domano Forest Service Road (FSR). Smoke may be visible southeast of College Heights and surrounding area and south of the City of Prince George.
