Tire Stewardship BC collecting residential scrap tires for free today

PRINCE GEORGE — Residents of Prince George are invited to drop off their residential scrap tires for free today until 1 pm.

Tire Stewardship BC has partnered with the event organizer, Recycling and Environmental Action Planning Society (REAPS) for the residential scrap tire collection.

If you have residential scrap tires you would like to drop off, Tire Stewardship BC will have a trailer set up in CN Centre parking lot at the Junk in the Trunk garage sale.

Junk in the Trunk is organized by REAPS, which is a charitable non-profit society working towards waste avoidance in the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George. Tire Stewardship BC says that over 100 million tires have been recycled in B.C., and that over five million scrap tires are recycled into new products, every year in B.C.
