Evacuation order & alerts issued for Teare Creek fire outside McBride
MCBRIDE — Update (10:45 a.m.): The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George says that evacuation orders and alerts put in place last night are still in effect
This as the BC Wildfire Service says the Teare Creek wildfire is still 600 hectares in size. Four Initial Attack Crews, one Unit Crew, one Officer and four helicopters are responding to this incident. Winds on site this morning are calm from the Northwest. Crews are working the East flank with support from helicopters. Last night crews successfully secured the south flank between the fire and Highway 16 with ignition operations. Structure protection assessments occurred last night and are continuing today. Highway 16 is open through McBride; please drive to conditions as visibility may be impacted by smoke, please check DriveBC for more information.
