PRINCE GEORGE– Every year the PG gymnastics club holds its Invitational Tournament. Which sees over 300 athletes from clubs all over the north come to the Prince George Gymnastics Club to compete including in Quesnel, Williams Lake, Smithers, Kitimat, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Hinton, and PG.

“We’re just excited about that hosting. It’s actually, one of our bigger meets we’ve had in a while, due to Covid ” –Carol Garcia, Competitive Coach

Two of those athletes are Kara Uwen and Eliana Walker who have both been with the Prince George Gymnastics Club for 10+ years and one of the most exciting parts for both gymnasts is the opportunity to compete in their hometown.

“It’s exciting to represent this town and show what Prince George can do” – Kara Uwen, Gymnast

“It’s really exciting because any other competition, we’re always down in Vancouver. So when we have Prince George meets here, it’s awesome because there’s still so many people that come and it’s so supportive for everyone that does come and cheer you on.” – Eliana Walker, Gymnast

The event starts Friday afternoon and runs throughout the weekend. There is a small $7 entrance fee if you would like to watch but it’s an opportunity to watch some of the best gymnasts that Northern BC has to offer, compete at the highest level.
