Councillor Trudy Klassen proposes a Prince George Arts Hall of Fame

PRINCE GEORGE- Monday night (September 25) City Council will discuss the possibility of establishing an Arts Hall of Fame.

Inspired by other communities across Canada, the motion has been put forward by Councilor Trudy Klassen and will invite the Community Arts Council to work together with the city to set up the award. This will include holding an event recognizing the inductees and establishing a recognition board in a visible location of city hall and, if appropriate, in civic buildings dedicated to the Arts. Klassen directs the city staff to return a report to Council by November 20 of this year.

Other items to be discussed in the council meeting is the partnering agreement towards a Downtown Vibrancy and Vitality Initiative, and the development of Council/Staff relations communication policy.

The regular Council meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m.
