Keep your walkways clear for the mailperson this holiday season

PRINCE GEORGE—The Holiday season is upon us and whether you’re sending or receiving packages or christmas cards this time of year, Canada Post wants to remind everyone to make sure there walkway is shoveled and slips free for delivery agents.

Slippery and dark hallways, as well as seasonal decorations, can pose a safety risk to delivery agents and others. A slip can not only cause injuries but also damages to the parcel the agent is carrying.

Canada Post has provided tips to keep visitors to your home safe:

• Remove snow and ice from walkways, driveways, and around your mailbox.
• Apply sand or salt over ice.
• Keep stairs, handrails, and mailboxes free of obstruction and in good repair.
• Turn on outdoor lighting to keep pathways and stairs visible.
