RCMP confirm one person killed in Highway 97 North crash

PRINCE GEORGE — North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says one person was killed in Monday’s two-vehicle collision on Highway 97 North and Barney Creek Road.

The collision occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. and involved a pickup-truck and a five-ton-truck.

One other person involved in the collision was airlifted to hospital for medical treatment, The cause of the crash is unknown and no names have been released.

The collision blocked the highway in both directions for several hours as investigators worked the scene.
