Spruce Kings acquire new defenseman

PRINCE GEORGE— The Prince George Spruce Kings have added Aidan Souligny from the Salmon Arm Silverbacks to their roster.

The Spruce Kings have traded defenseman Max Ranström (’04) in exchange for Souligny and future considerations.

The 18-year-old defenseman has played in 25 games with the silverbacks this season, earning two assist.

“We’re excited to add a good young player like Aidan to our program,” said General Manager Mike Hawes. “He’s a player who thinks the game well and has good size and strength. He is a great addition to our back end.”

Souligny stands at 6’1″ and 198 lbs boasting a powerful left handed shot.

“I’m looking forward to joining the Spruce Kings and meeting all the players,” said Souligny.” I’ve heard nothing but positive things about the team, coaching staff and the city of Prince George.”

Soligny, is committed to playing NCAA Division 1 hockey at Boston University after his time in the BCHL.

The Spruce Kings extend their thanks to Max Ranström for his contributions to the organization.

The Spruce Kings will be visiting Salmon Arm Friday, February 9, to battle the Silverbacks.
