PRINCE GEORGE – It’s the moment the dedicated volunteer fire rescue team at Ferndale-Tabor has been waiting for. After two and a half years of waiting, they finally received their close-to-one-million-dollar new fire truck.

Thirty months of anticipation have finally ended for the dedicated volunteers at Ferndale Tabor Fire Rescue, who can now breathe a sigh of relief as their brand-new, state-of-the-art fire truck finally arrives. The team is proud to have this modern vehicle, enabling them to serve their community better.

“ More power, the same amount of water capacity. And it goes a little faster to get where we have to go in a little bit more of a hurry.”

Fire Chief Bryant Kemble

Ferndale / Tabor Volunteer Fire Rescue

Every twenty years, it is mandatory that fire halls replace their fire trucks, paid through hard work and fundraising efforts.

Ferndale Tabor Fire Rescue safeguards an area of approximately 50 square kilometres, which includes almost 550 homes. The newest fire truck in the regional district is a great addition. According to Kemble, residents must also learn to protect their homes against wildfires.

The new fire truck will be up and running by the end of the month. Ferndale Tabor Fire Rescue is also looking for more volunteers to assist with its operation and to serve the surrounding area.
