Downtown Safety Unit seizes weapons as they combat ‘increase in violent crime within the City’

PRINCE GEORGE— On Sunday, February 18, The RCMP’s Downtown Safety Unit executed a search warrant on the 4200-block of 22 Avenue, resulting in the seizure of a number of firearms and suspected illicit drugs.

“Police officers located what is suspected to be fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine inside the residence. They also located a large amount of ammunition and several firearms and other weapons. Two people located inside the residence during the execution of the search warrant were arrested for breaching their probation conditions,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The RCMP say the arrests and seizures are just one of the ways they are combating increasing violent crime within the City.
