New documentary ‘Block Dog’ filmed near Quesnel tells story of tree-planters and their dogs

Man’s best friend is an expression used often when referring to dogs. For many treeplanters the expression couldn’t be more true. The Here Boy Films production follows the daily lives of eight loyal but mischievous dogs in a remote tree-planting camp in Quesnel, British Columbia. Filmed during the sweltering summertime, the 44-minute doc chronicles the highs and lows of forestry industry practices through canine eyes. One of the dogs even saved their owner’s life during a bear attack! You can watch the full film on CBC Gem starting April 19th.
