Six-year-old dog struggles to be adopted
PRINCE GEORGE—Arnold, or Arnie for short, is a six-year-old lovebug currently staying at the Prince George Animal Rescue.
Nicola Redpath, operator of the rescue, says that Arnie is a great dog who is friendly with people of all ages. She adds that the only hiccup with Arnie is he likes to chase livestock.
Despite all of his quality’s Redpath says he’s struggling to get adopted. One major contributor being that he’s middle aged.
“A lot of people will have a mindset that they want to have either a puppy or a very young dog that they can train themselves,” says Redpath. “They think that a lot of the middle aged dogs or the older dogs come with a lot of baggage. Which, sometimes can be true, but at the same time these are wonderful dogs.”
