Three car collision on Highway 97

Feb 3, 2025 | 2:30 PM

PRINCE GEORGE – A three car collision took place on the intersection of Highway 97 and 5th Avenue at around 1:30 p.m. in Prince George Monday afternoon (Feb.3).

“Three vehicles crashed into each other due to the incredibly icy conditions that we’ve had all weekend,” said Prince George RCMP Corporal Jennifer Cooper.

Despite the heavy presence of first responders and the damage suffered by one of the vehicles, Cooper said no injuries were reported. Traffic was reduced to one lane, but the road was not completely closed off. Cooper says this accident is a reminder to be extra safe when driving on icy roads.

“With the snow and cold weather, RCMP are just reminding drivers to slow down and leave distance between yourself and the motorists in front of you, more distance than we are used to. Even with these studded tires, you can find you’re going to be slipping today,” Cooper said.
