Nearly $250-thousand raised as Cops for Cancer Tour de North rolls into Prince Rupert
PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. — After seven days on the road, the Cops for Cancer Tour de North has made its way from Prince George to Prince Rupert.
The team of twelve cyclists departed from Heritage Elementary School in Prince George on Friday (Sept. 12), and they completed the 850-kilometre ride on Sept. 18.
“I’m so proud to have been a part of such an incredible journey and I’m so sad for it to be over,” rider Samuelle Simard of the Smithers’ BCEHS said. “It was a great team effort by all!”
A partnership between the Canadian Cancer Society and local first responder agencies, cyclists stopped at numerous events across Northern BC to engage local communities, businesses and schools while raising money to support children facing cancer.
