PRINCE GEORGE — The UNBC Timberwolves Women’s Basketball team has added a a new recruit from Alberta.

The 18-year-old plays high school ball at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, and plays club basketball at both the CBA (Calgary Basketball Association) and at Genesis. At Genesis, Regier is coached by former UNBC Timberwolves Women’s Basketball alumna Anastasia Soltes.

Last season, Regier average 10.5 points, four assists and eight rebounds per game. This year she’s already captured the “Heart of the Hound” Basketball award. During her Grade 11 season she earned both Most Oustanding Senior Player of the Year honours along with Notre Dame’s Most Outstanding Senior Athlete of the Year award.

“Hearing my teammates speak on how personalized and strong the education makes it an environment that I know I want to be in,” shared Regier who plans to study Nursing at UNBC. Regier’s visit in late January timed perfectly with the Timberwolves Legacy Night, which only further cemented her excitement. “Seeing the community come together to support the Timberwolves was powerful. It was a beautiful environment. It made me want to be a part of it.”
