Update: RCMP need your help in Yellowhead Bridge investigation
PRINCE GEORGE —Update: Prince George RCMP says that the individual has been located and is safe and sound. RCMP would like to thank the media and public for their assistance.
Earlier: Prince George RCMP is seeking the public’s help in furthering its investigation that started this past Saturday (March 21) on Highway 16 East.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. that night, police responded to a report of a person on the Yellowhead Highway Bridge who appeared to be straddling the guardrail. The person was described as possibly a woman, wearing an oversized white sweatshirt and a pink toque.
Police officers were in the area within minutes of the call being received and did not witness anyone nearby matching that description. The area was surveyed with the drone, and Prince George Search and Rescue was engaged to assist; a thorough search was conducted the next day using the RCMP helicopter, as well. However, the individual was not located.
