McBRIDE, B.C. — McBride RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance as efforts continue to locate a missing 61-year-old man who was reported missing nearly a week ago.

Police say Lindsay Hamill was reported missing on July 8, 2026. Since then, investigators and search efforts have focused on the Castle Creek area, where Hamill’s utility terrain vehicle (UTV) was later discovered.

Hamill is described as 61 years old, standing six feet tall and weighing approximately 230 pounds. He has grey hair and blue eyes.

The discovery of his UTV near Castle Creek has heightened concerns for his safety and well-being. RCMP say both police and Hamill’s family are increasingly worried and are urging anyone who may have seen him or who has information about his whereabouts to come forward.

Search efforts remain ongoing, and investigators are continuing to follow up on any leads that could help locate him.

Police are reminding residents, outdoor recreation users, hunters, campers and anyone who may have travelled through the Castle Creek area in recent days to think back to anything they may have seen that could assist the investigation.

Anyone with information about Lindsay Hamill’s whereabouts is asked to contact the McBride RCMP or their local police department. Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Authorities say even information that may seem insignificant could prove valuable in helping locate the missing man and bringing answers to his family.

The investigation remains active as police continue their search and appeal for public assistance.
