PRINCE GEORGE- The Prince George Spruce Kings are back on the ice and ready to begin the journey toward what they hope will be a memorable season as training camp officially gets underway.

Following a campaign that showed plenty of promise and gave the team a taste of postseason success, the Spruce Kings enter camp with a strong core of returning players and a renewed determination to take the next step. With familiar faces leading the way and new talent looking to earn roster spots, competition is expected to be intense from day one.

The opening of training camp marks the first opportunity for players and coaches to come together and begin building the foundation for the months ahead. The focus will be on conditioning, developing chemistry, and establishing the standard the organization expects heading into the new BCHL season.

Team leaders believe the experience gained last year will be a major advantage as the club sets its sights on greater achievements. There is a belief throughout the dressing room that the group is capable of more, and that work toward those goals begins now.

“We have so many returners and, we got a taste of it last year, but we want more this year. The outcome wasn’t enough. We know what we need to do and it starts right now.,” said Mason Loewen.

That mindset is expected to drive the Spruce Kings throughout training camp as players battle for positions and look to prove they can contribute to a championship-contending roster.

Coaches will use the coming weeks to evaluate talent and identify combinations that can help the team succeed when the regular season begins. For returning players, camp is about setting the tone. For newcomers, it is an opportunity to make a lasting impression.

With optimism high and expectations rising, the Prince George Spruce Kings are embracing the challenge ahead. Training camp is underway, and the pursuit of a bigger prize has officially begun.
