Willowcale Bridge To Re-Open This Summer

PRINCE GEORGE – If all goes according to the City’s plans, the bridge on the Willowcale Road over Haggith Creek will re-open this summer.
That piece of road has been problematic for the City since February of 2016 when it was closed to single-lane alternating traffic because of sloughing.

Last Fall, the City added more fill around the area in question.

“That has been settled all over the winter and we haven’t seen any more movement. So now we’re going in to start the repairs,” says Adam Homes, City Engineer for the Project.

The original budget was $1.8 million, but that jumped to $3 million. Homes says the new culvert adds $500,000 but the final bill is still up in the air. Homes says a report will be coming to Council at a later date.
