Digging For Family History
PRINCE GEORGE- With the growing popularity of websites like Ancestry.com it can be easy to track your family history. But, a local group says it can be easy to hit a dead end and not know where to look for more information. “Often a program can be misleading, they don’t always have documentation to back up facts and sometimes you just run into dead ends and sometimes it helps to talk it over with other people who have had the same issues and work them out,” said Prince George Genealogical Society secretary, Linda Williams.
The society is hosting a unique event tomorrow afternoon. It’s called a “Genea Bee”. Research experts will be on hand to help those who would like to learn more about their family history. You can take a look at the society’s library, get help with online research, or sort through old family photos and documents. The bee runs from 10 until 4 at the St. Giles Presbyterian church, it’s $20 for non-members.
