Fraudsters Posing As Firefighters
Jun 21, 2018 | 11:29 AM
PRINCE GEORGE- Local RCMP are warning the public of a scam that’s been making the rounds this week. Fraudsters have been calling residents posing as firefighters collecting money for Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Local fire halls do collect money for that charity, but only during the second week of September and at public locations around the city. Local firefighters will never call residents to ask for donations. RCMP say if you receive a call, do not give out personal information, hang up and report the incident to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. If you have any information on this scam, you’re asked to call PG RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
