Fewer People Looking For Work In PG

PRINCE GEORGE – The latest unemployment numbers in Prince George suggest there are fewer people looking for jobs.  The May rate fell to 4.6 percent, the lowest rate since 2015.  However, the number of people working or looking for work fell marginally.  The rate in April came in at 5.4 percent.  The rate in May of 2017 was 5.9 percent.  Provincially, BC created thousands of jobs in the accommodation and food services sectors in May, nudging the rate down two basis points to 4.8 percent.
