Northern FanCon Hosts Women In Film Panel To Discuss Equality
PRINCE GEORGE – If your spidey senses are tingling, it might be because Northern FanCon begins tonight. It’s the fourth year of the convention, and this year it will host a ‘Women in Film’ panel. The panel will discuss the importance of gender equality in film and television.
Panellist Allisa Swanson designs costumes for Once Upon A Time and The 100. She says she’s noticed a pattern in the industry:
“Even if it’s a leading lady show, or a show about women, all of their minor characters, all of the day players, still end up being men,” says Allisa Swanson, Costume Designer.
This is Swanson’s second year attending FanCon. She says she’s looking forward to meeting fans and the insightful questions they often ask.
