Charge laid in pedestrian collision
PRINCE GEORGE— A local driver has been charged in relation to a collision involving a 66-year-old pedestrian in Prince George last fall.
On September 15, 2018, there was a pedestrian involved collision at the intersection of Victoria Street and 5th Avenue. The 66-year-old pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The driver remained on scene.
The B.C. prosecution Service has approved a Motor Vehicle Act charge of failing to yield to a pedestrian against 53-year-old Prince George man Khalid Ayub Khan. Khan has been served a Summons and is set to appear in court on May 22.
The Prince George RCMP are reminding drivers they must yield to pedestrians crossing at all intersections, whether there is a marked crosswalk or not.
