Blackwater Gold project given environmental assessment certificate

The proposed project would be located 110 km southwest of Vanderhoof and received an environmental assessment certificate by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy and The Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources. The area would encompass 4,400 hectares of land and extract 60,000 tonnes of ore per day.

Updates to 9-1-1 system being proposed

The regional district of Fraser-Fort George is proposing an internet based I-P system which would upgrade the current analog systems. The total budget for the project is $5 million. There are currently no systems of this kind in Canada.

CN renews funding for Carbon Action Project

CN is providing $60,000 to continue the Climate Action Project–a partnership between UNBC and the Prince George Chamber of Commerce. Since 2015 $220,000 have been invested by CN and has assisted 46 local companies so far.

CUPE K-12 outside workers reach tentative deal in P.G.

After two days of bargaining a tentative deal has been reached by CUPE 4991 and School District 57. The deal will become a part of the complete package members will vote to ratify in September.
