Former Cougar pens with Panthers

A former Cougar and Stanley Cup Champion is on the move this offseason, to a different cat crew.

Brett Connolly has been signed by the Florida Panthers to a four-year contract worth a reported $13 million.

The signing follows Connolly’s best season in the NHL, where he produced 46 points, marking career highs in goals and assists. His 81 games played was also a career high.

The 27-year-old joins his fourth NHL team since being drafted sixth overall in 2010 by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Panthers also signed two-time Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky over the weekend.
