Mounties appeal for more information in Toosey Reserve killing

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — RCMP in Williams Lake are putting out another appeal for information as they investigate a homicide from last month.

On June 8, a 33-year-old woman was killed on the Toosey Reserve west of Williams Lake. While a local man was arrested for murder at the time, RCMP have not said whether charges have been approved.

In an initial news release issued a day after the homicide, RCMP said investigators had identified two possible scenes — one on the Toosey Reserve and another at “Lovers Leap”.

Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says police are still looking for more information from the public.

“The RCMP wish to remind the public that this is an active investigation and they are continually working on this, and are looking to the public for some help,” said Saunderson.

“The police have spoken to many, many people during the course of this investigation, but they want people to know that if you have any information, even if you think it’s insignificant, it certainly might be what the police are needing and looking for. [Investigators] are urging anyone who they haven’t spoken with yet, or anyone who suddenly remembers, ‘Oh, I haven’t told them this part,’ to please call the Williams Lake RCMP.”

Those with information can speak to the Williams Lake detachment at (250) 392-6211 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
