Vehicle thieves caught last week by RCMP IMPACT team

PRINCE GEORGE– A couple of car thieves were caught last week in Prince George.

Police Officers from BC’s Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team (IMPACT) were in Prince George last week, on the hunt for stolen vehicles.

On Monday, July 29th members of IMPACT located a stolen black 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck parked that had been recently stolen from Fort. St. James. A male was seen getting into the truck before driving a few blocks and picking up a female passenger. The two continued their journey to a restaurant where police arrested them without incident. A search of the truck revealed three rifles that had been stolen in a break and enter in Fort St. James. The female passenger was released without charge, however the 34-year-old man remains in custody.

On Tuesday July 30th a stolen white 1999 Ford F450 truck was seen parked on the 2100 block of Norwood Street. Police saw a male enter the vehicle and drive it a few blocks, parking a truck at a business in the 1900 clock of Victoria St. where RCMP IMPACT members took the 28-year-old man, who is known to police into custody. A search of the truck revealed break and enter instruments and property that had been stolen in a break and enter in the Cluculz Lake area.
