MACKENZIE — Update: North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson confirms young George has been located.

She says a police dog located the boy wandering in the woods this evening and that he is safe and sound and has been reunited with this parents.

More to come.

Earlier: All Kris Benoit wants is for his four-year-old son George to be safe at home.

George went missing when he was with his mother picking berries in the Lion Lake area near Mackenzie just after noon on Saturday.

Mackenzie and nearby communities have come together in the search for George.

RCMP and multiple search and rescue teams, including Prince George Search and Rescue, have been working day and night.

There’s been an overwhelming amount of support from the community with hundreds of volunteers joining the search, and a wait list to volunteer that’s pages long.

Benoit says George has the most beautiful piercing blue eyes. He’s intelligent and kind, and his family loves him unconditionally.

The search continues, and the family remains hopeful.
